WXYZ — The St. Clair fan base may be small, but it can be mighty.
Jake Cronenworth grew up in the small town north of Detroit and is now lighting it up for the San Diego Padres in his rookie season.
Playing for the Saints, Cronenworth was apart of the only baseball state championship in school history, as has never forgotten where he's come from.
Normally every MLB team visits every stadium at least for two games in a normal season, but due to COVID-19, the schedules were reset.
That meant that Cronenworth's Comerica Park homecoming, would have to wait.
Or so he thought.
Some of the St. Clair community members got together and figured out how to get their pictures into seats, as apart of the cutouts that can be seen in some stadiums around the league.
Cronenworth noticed the St. Clair cheering section, and will have plenty to talk about with friends and family when he returns from his first season in the big leagues.
