(WXYZ) — The Red Wings are rebuilding.
The Tigers are rebuilding.
The Pistons are rebuilding.
The Lions just had the third pick in the NFL Draft after another losing season.
Steve Yzerman talked this week about his belief in each franchise, and offered historic context to how professional sports teams go through highs and lows.
“I came here in 1983. The Tigers won the World Series in ’84. I’ve watched the Pistons win championships. I watched the Red Wings. We went through our ups and downs," he said. "I’ve watched the Lions, and we’re all hoping for the Lions. They had some great years with Barry (Sanders) and when Wayne Fontes was coaching, some exciting playoff times and seasons."
The Red Wings general manager offered hope.
"I believe all four teams will get back on top at some point," he said.
