(WXYZ) — Casey Mize left his start in Reading with an apparent injury.
The Tigers top prospect is pitching with Double-A Erie, and has found tremendous success early in his first full professional season.
Mize threw his 23rd pitch of the night, and got a visit from his infield, athletic trainer TJ Obergefell, and manager Mike Rabelo. He exited without throwing another pitch.
Catcher Kade Scivicque brought the infield in after Mize threw the pitch in the third inning.
Detroit drafted Mize No. 1 overall in the 2018 MLB Draft.
