DETROIT (WXYZ) — Four golfers will be facing off in a competitive practice round this week at the Rocket Mortgage Classic to raise funds to end the digital divide in Detroit.

Bubba Watson and Harold Varner III will team up against Jason Day in Wesley Bryan in a nine-hole exhibition on Wednesday at the historic Detroit Golf Club.

The exhibition will take place on the back 9 of the course, and will be simulcast on the Golf Channel and PGA Tour Live.

It will be a show of support for the tournament's "Changing the Course" initiative, which aims to end the digital divide in Detroit and ensure every Detroit resident has access to internet, technology and digital literacy training.

Fans can text “AREA313” to 243725 to donate toward Changing the Course.

“It’s going to be a lot of fun to get out there Wednesday for a little hit and giggle with some friends to raise money for a great cause,” Watson said. “When I heard about what Rocket Mortgage and the tournament were doing to provide internet access to Detroit residents, I knew I wanted to get behind it and do what I could to help out. I hope the fans enjoy getting a little inside look at the banter we always have during a practice round and get behind the effort too by donating what they can.”

Players will play the back nine, including AREA 313 – holes 14-16 – and it will also kick off the Area 313 Challenge.

Any player who scores a 3-1-3 on the holes during the entire tournament will trigger a $313,000 donation toward the Changing the Course Initiative. Also, the tournament will donae $5,000 for every 3 made on holes 14 and 16 and $25,000 for any hole-in-one on hole 15.
