DETROIT (WXYZ) — World No. 5 golfer Webb Simpson was a late commitment to the 2020 Rocket Mortgage Classic, happening next week at Detroit Golf Club.

Tournament officials announced Simpson would play the tournament, which will be his first tournament since winning the RBC Heritage last weekend.

He will be the highest-ranked player in the tournament, followed by World No. 7 Patrick Reed, World. No. 11 Bryson DeChambeau and World No. 17 Jason Day. Other commitments include Rickie Fowler, Jason Day, Nate Lashley, Bubba Watson, Kevin Na and Kevin Kisner.

The tournament will take place without fans July 2-5.
