(WXYZ) — Tuesday brings more sunshine as high pressure builds into our area. Rain chances increase late Wednesday through Thursday.

A storm system approaches from the west Wednesday, bringing showers and a few thunderstorms late in the day. Rain showers continue Wednesday night through at least the first part of Thursday, before drier weather returns to round out the workweek. Temperatures climb into the upper 70s Wednesday, near 80° Thursday, and back into the upper 70s Friday.

Shower chances linger this weekend with otherwise partly sunny skies. Temperatures will be in the low to mid 80s Saturday and Sunday, before a big warm up arrives early next week.
