Tracking Two storms in the tropics

The tropics are really picking up as we approach peak hurricane season. At the time of this article. three tropical systems or waves are in the Atlantic with two of them being a direct concern for the United States - Laura and what's soon to be Marco;

These two storms will make several headlines over the weekend with the potential for both of them reaching hurricane strength in the Gulf...at the same time. That's where the story truly resides since this has never happened in the modern satellite era. In fact, the closest we've come to this was September 5th, 1933 where two storms made landfall; one as a hurricane and the other as a tropical storm.
