(WXYZ) — Another round of snow on the way for metro Detroit! Snow showers will start Wednesday evening from the south and spread to the north through the night.

A general 1 to 3 inches of snow is expected to fall through the overnight hours, with the higher amounts impacting areas near and south of Detroit.

It will likely be a messy and slow Thursday morning rush hour across the area.

An arctic front will sweep through on Thursday pushing in more snow showers with an additional one to two inches of snow possible before it moves out.

Temperatures will fall behind the front. Low temperatures Thursday night will plummet into the single digits with below zero wind chills. Friday will be the coldest day in a year for metro Detroit.
