WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) — Lakes Urgent Care says less people have been walking through the doors, but say they want those that need to seek emergency medical care to feel safe.
Medical Director Lakes Urgent Care Dr. Sanford Vieder says the goal is to relieve some of the stress from emergency rooms.
“There are a lot of people who still need care of come kind, whether you sprained your ankle, or you feel or you cut your finger or you got a child with an earache,” said Dr. Vieder.

Patients are now being pre-screened at the door. At the Livonia office, those with coronavirus symptoms will be separated from other patients.
In West Bloomfield, those experiencing symptoms of coronavirus will not be allowed to enter the building and given instructions on how to proceed with care.
People visiting will also be given a face mask.
“If you come into a Lakes Urgent Care site, if you got a mask great and if you don’t, then we are going to provide you a mask similar to this,” said Dr. Vieder.
Staff members have face masks, as well as face shields, gowns and gloves. Cleaning takes place before and after each visit. They have X-ray capabilities and IVS.
Lakes Urgent Care is open seven days a week and on holidays.
