DETROIT (WXYZ) — A new grocery-delivery service is connecting people with local businesses here in metro Detroit and throughout Michigan.

Drew Patrick, the CEO of Skidmore Studio, says creating this concept of grocery delivery has been in the works for years – the coronavirus pandemic changing the timeline for launching Michigan Fields.

“This just sparked us into getting it launched a lot earlier than we thought we were going to,” said Patrick.

People get go to the Michigan Fields website to order from a number of business. Some of the items you can buy include meats, bread, coffee, along with fresh fruits and veggies.

Once an order is placed, people can choose their drop-off date which usually takes a minimum of two to three days. There is a flat rate delivery fee of $9.95, and they will make deliveries within 35 miles of their headquarters in Eastern Market.

All deliveries are contact-free.

“On your delivery date, you’ll get a text message telling you a window when you’ll get your delivery, and then your delivery is on your doorstep, and you’ll get another text message letting you know your delivery has been made,” said Patrick.
