UTICA, Mich. (WXYZ) — For those who chose to love cold-blooded pets instead of fur-babies, Pets and Things Reptile Emporium in Utica has got you covered.

“They cater to people that don’t want something that everybody else has, you know, it's not a dog, it's not a cat it’s something a little different,” said owner Keith Dzialak.

The store provides food for reptiles that you can’t buy at just any grocery store, like live worms and crickets.

Most reptiles need a good course of sunlight to survive, Pets and Things Reptile Emporium sells UV lights to make sure those pets have enough Vitamin D.

Right now, they are only allowing four customers inside the store at a time. They have placed markings on the ground to help people customers and employees practice social distancing.

People also have the option of calling in an order and having it brought to your car curbside.

“We can take it out to their car, or they can come in, you know, we do require a mask,” said Dzialak.

Dzialak says they are sanitizing counters every 15 minutes to make sure the store is clean.

Pets and Things Reptile Emporium in Utica has maintained their normal business hours of noon to 8 p.m. Tuesday to Friday, noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday and noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. The store is closed on Mondays.
