WEST BLOOMFIELD, Mich. (WXYZ) — Orders to quarantine are putting a damper on large family gatherings to celebrate religious holidays, including the Jewish holiday of Passover/Seder.

Stage Deli in West Bloomfield wants to help.

Stage Deli has been in business for 59 years with Steve Goldberg at the helm for 25 years. Goldberg is preparing meals for Seder, the beginning of Passover, which is on April 8 and 9.

“On Wednesday evening, Jews around the world will celebrate by gathering, usually in large groups. This year, in very small groups, due to social distancing requirements,” said Goldberg.

The Seder meal is meant to include certain dietary needs including matzo, bitter herbs and charoset. Goldberg has all of these needs ready to go.

“It is a complete package because what is happening this year is people who haven’t held Seders in their homes for years, maybe ever, are now doing it because it’s just their family,” said Goldberg.

No-contact delivery and curbside drop-off is an option.

Stage Deli has adjusted their normal hours from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. To place an order, people can call 248-855-6622.
