Strip mall business in Woodhaven received fax demanding $25,000 during bomb threat

Police say the scene has been cleared. They believe the Woodhaven threat is connected to two other bomb threats at Head Start schools on Detroit's east side. 

Police say the threats stem from an ominous fax being received at locations across the country that demands a $25,000 payment.

Police say the situation is now over and the area is clear. 

10:29 a.m.

Police say workers at Daybreak Salon & Spa received a fax demanding $25,000. It threatened a bomb detonation if they didn't pay the fine or called police. 

About a dozen businesses have been evacuated.

9:34 a.m.

Police say they are investigating a bomb threat at a strip mall in Woodhaven. 

It's located near West and Allen Road.

Police are asking people to avoid the area until further notice.
