Detroit police, Wayne County Sheriff's Office looking to hire more officers

DETROIT (WXYZ) - The Detroit Police Department and Wayne County Sheriff's Office are holding a hiring event to hire more police officers and sheriff's deputies.

It's happening three times over the summer, with the first one on Wednesday, July 19 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. It's at the Samaritan Center at 5555 Conner St. in Detroit.

The others are at the Northwest Activity Center at 18100 Meyers on Wednesday, July 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and at SerMetro at 9301 Michigan Ave. on Wednesday, Aug. 16 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

You must be at least 18 years old, have a valid driver's license, have a high school diploma or GED with no felony convictions, U.S. citizen and 20/20 vision or 20/20 corrected vision.
