Federal Court is becoming just as popular as a strip club. More strippers are suing the clubs where they work including two in Detroit, the Penthouse and Coliseum, both located on 8 Mile Road.

They claim is working as independent contractors is an unfair labor practice because they make money on tips and have to pay some of it back to the club in fines, penalties and fees.

A similar lawsuit was filed by 28,000 dancers against the Déjà Vu company with 60 clubs across the United States including 11 in Michigan.

That case settled in Federal Court in Detroit in June for $6.5 Million.

Some dancers objected to the settlement claiming they would only be paid hundreds of dollars and $1 Million went to attorney fees, and $4.5 million to a fund to pay for their future fines, penalties and fees.

One of the attorneys in that case is also involved in this new lawsuit.
