Fire investigators are working to determine the cause of a blaze Sunday night that burned four vacant apartment buildings on Detroit's east side.

It happened on Grand Boulevard near Frederick Street at about 7:30 p.m. Sunday.

Fire officials said all four structures were vacant 2-story apartment buildings.

About 35 firefighters, five engines and two ladders were on scene Sunday night battling the blaze.

Fire officials expect Grand Boulevard to remain blocked off for a few more hours as they investigate.

Sunday marks the first night of Angels' Night patrols in the city of Detroit.
