The Oakland County Sheriff's Office is searching for a 16-year-old boy who reportedly ran away from home, possibly armed with his grandfather's handgun.
Deputies say Nathan Charles Greiwe left Oakland County Children's Village for a weekend visit home before he disappeared.
The sheriff's office says he does not have a history of violence or threats.
Greiwe is believed to be in the Orion Township area.
Lake Orion Community Schools are closed for programs today as a precautionary measure.
Parents with children at the schools for programming are asked to pick them up.
No threats have been made at this time. The former student's whereabouts are unknown.
