A 57-year-old man is accused of killing his niece in the home he lives in with his elderly mother.
Detroit Police found Katherine Grimes, 42, dead from a gunshot wound to the head in her grandmother's living room on Winthrop near Puritan.
Police say Grimes' uncle called 911 around 10 a.m. Friday morning after he allegedly shot her.
When officers arrived, sources say the uncle confessed to the killing. He reportedly stated that he was under stress and couldn't handle the pressure.
Grimes' 87-year-old grandmother was not harmed. We're told she has dementia.
Grimes leaves behind two teenage children. She was also engaged to marry Keith Freeman next month on Sweetest Day.
Her uncle remains under arrest and could be arraigned over the weekend.
