Detroit police say two persons of interest are in custody after a woman was shot near Hart Plaza as many gathered for the fireworks show Monday night.

The shooting happened at Woodward and Jefferson.

Police say 47-year-old Chiquita Keen-Johnston was an innocent bystander, caught in the line of fire that stemmed from an argument around 9:50 p.m. Her husband and son spoke out about the shooting.

According to police, the woman was shot in the hip and sustained non-life threatening injuries. She is still in the hospital at this time.

The weapon has also reportedly been recovered.
