Many businesses have moved to downtown Detroit over the past five years, but one business that still isn't there is Apple.

Five years ago this week, Quicken Loans Founder Dan Gilbert discussed how he was in talks to bring an Apple Store in downtown Detroit.

The store would have been in the Chase building, which is across from Campus Martius Park. Though there is not an Apple Store in the building, WXYZ did debut a new downtown studio located in the Qube in February 2015.

There are currently Apple Stores at Briarwood Mall in Ann Arbor, Partridge Creek in Clinton Township, Twelve Oaks in Novi and Somerset in Troy.

In the five years since our story aired, many businesses have opened locations in downtown Detroit. Moosejaw and John Varvatos opened stores on Woodward Ave., and a Nike Store is expected to open by the end of May.
