Open auditions Tuesday, April 18, for MOTOWN THE MUSICAL

An open casting call for African-American singers interesting in being a part of the national touring production of MOTOWN THE MUSICAL will be held Tuesday, April 18, at Hitsville U.S.A., home to the Motown Museum. It's located at 2648 West Grand Blvd. in Detroit.   

Producers are seeking African-American men and women, ages 20s-40s, with exceptional voices.  They're also looking for an African-American boy, age 8 to 13, to play young Michael Jackson / Berry Gordy / Stevie Wonder.  No prior theatre experience is necessary. All vocal parts are encouraged to attend.

Auditions will be held from 9 a.m. - 1a.m. and again from 2 p.m. -5 p.m.

What to Bring

1. Sheet music for a song of choice from the Motown songbook that best features vocal range. An accompanist will be provided.

2. A picture and resume including contact information (cell phone, email) stapled together.  A recent snapshot is sufficient in the absence of a formal headshot.
