A wild hit-and-run sent a driver into a near fatal crash along the Southfield Freeway Monday night.

Luckily, that driver was able to walk away without getting hurt.

Ricardo Brown did everything he could stay off the Southfield Freeway. His SUV was dangling on the concrete border, inches from flying into wrong way traffic.

He understands he escaped a near fatal situation.

Brown says, "That car hits me and sends me down there. I'm lucky I made it out alive."

The other car, with its front end all banged up, stayed on the service drive near 8 Mile in Detroit for a while.

Brown tells us that driver ran a red light, slamming into him, forcing him down the embankment.

Four people were inside that car.

He says two immediately ran off, including the driver, and two stayed behind for a little while, then simply walked away.

He told us, "That's not cool. I hope they get caught."

Police say they didn't have a good description of the suspects right away.
