Detroit police are investigating after a woman was shot and killed inside a home on the city's west side.
The shooting happened around 2 p.m. Sunday in the 15400 block of Ward near Fenkell and Meyers.
Police say a 24-year-old woman was found dead inside the back of the home. The suspect took off, but was later arrested outside a home on Vinewood.
According to police, the suspect shot the woman multiple times using an AK 47.
He was reportedly inside the home with five children, several adults and a loaded rifle. The SWAT team eventually ended a standoff after 25 minutes.
Everyone inside the home made it out safely.
