Amazon eyes old Visteon facility in Shelby Township for distribution center

Hundreds of new jobs are coming to Shelby Township, as sources confirm Amazon is bringing a new development to town.

The Macomb County Brownfield Redevelopment Authority Board confirmed the board approved redevelopment plans for the old Visteon site at 23 Mile and Mound Rd.

The approved plan is for the construction of a one million square foot ‘logistics optimization center."

Crain’s Detroit Business is reporting that the move is expected to bring a thousand jobs to the warehouse.

The County will not confirm if it’s Amazon on the record, there are non disclosure agreements.

Two government sources confirm with 7 Action News, the company planning to open up shop is Amazon and the Board of Commissioners is scheduled to consider the plan in mid-August.
