A pizzeria employee now faces criminal charges after he allegedly sent threatening messages to his boss.
It happened Tuesday evening in Clawson after the Hungry Howies worker was sent home from work after getting into an argument with a manager. According to police the argument stemmed from a salad.
Investigators told 7 Action News the employee did not want to make a salad for an order that had been placed.
“Apparently, the driver was asked to make a salad. He refused which led to an argument,” said Detective Lieutenant Scott Sarvello. “The manager sent him home to think about how it all went down."
According to Clawson Police, the disgruntled employee instead took his anger out on the manager. It is alleged he sent the manager threatening text and Snapchat messages and more.
“There was a picture of a rifle, again with some threatening messages,” said Lt. Sarvello. “Nothing specific and I am not get into the full details of the messages, but it was enough to alarm our officers to get up and go to that employee’s house, that was sent home. They ended up arresting him and confiscating that gun at that time.”
Lt. Sarvello told 7 Action News the suspect admitted to officers the threats were “stupid” and that he regretted them. But according to police that any time a threat is made it is taken very seriously.
“You don’t know if it’s a false threat or if someone will follow through and the employees were very concerned. They alarmed us and the officers took the appropriate actions,” said Lt. Sarvello.
The suspect was arrested and is out of jail on bond.
The case was sent to the Oakland County Prosecutor's Office for review. The employee is likely to be formally charged with some type of crime in a few weeks.
