A fundraiser was held for a Woodhaven woman and her grandson who were victims of a murder-suicide Monday.

Forty-nine-year-old Sherry Multop and her ten-year-old grandson Christopher Baltzer were shot to death in the Woodhaven apartment they shared with Multop's 62-year-old boyfriend, Terry Wyatt.

Police said Wyatt then turned the gun on himself.

"You see stuff like this happen all the time and you feel so bad for other families, but then when it actually
hits you it's so unreal," said Milton Baltzer, Christopher's uncle.

The Brass Monkey bar on Oak Street in Wyandotte hosted a fundraiser for the family Friday.

Donations will cover burial costs and pay for a headstone.

The family wants to give any remaining proceeds to a group that supports children who are victims of domestic violence.

"It's money that needs to be used to help kids that could be in the same situation," Baltzer said.
