A River Rouge man, who is the son of a River Rouge City councilman, has been arrested and charged in the murder of his suspected drug dealer.

According to police, 34-year-old Justin Joseph Pruneau rode a bicycle with a rifle concealed in a garbage bag to 59-year-old Robert Cook's home around 8 p.m. Friday. Joseph is the son of Councilman Mark Pruneau.

When he got inside the home, Pruneau allegedly fired the rifle, hitting Cook in the abdomen.

Cook was taken to the hospital where he later died.

Pruneau fled the home on his bike but was later arrested by River Rouge police officers.

He was arraigned on Monday afternoon at district court on homicide and felony firearm charges.  The judge told him he will remain in jail for now without bond.
