University of Detroit Mercy has parted ways with men's basketball head coach Ray McCallum.

McCallum spent eight seasons coaching the Titans men's basketball team.

UDM finished sixth in the Horizon League in 2015-16, losing in the quarterfinals of the conference tournament at Joe Louis Arena.

"After a careful and long review of the entire men's basketball program, I determined it was necessary to have a change in leadership," Athletic Director Robert Vowels said in a release. "I would like to thank coach McCallum for his eight years of service at the University and for all of his efforts."

McCallum led the Titans to the 2012 Horizon League championship and NCAA Tournament. They also made it to the NCAA Tournament and were eliminated by Kansas in the second round.

He compiled a 130-132 record in his eight seasons at Detroit. The Titans went 66-73 in conference play during his tenure and haven't made it past the semifinals of the Horizon League Tournament since 2013.
