Hundreds of thousands of people are converging in Ann Arbor for the city's annual art fairs.
Four days' worth of art, music, dancing and food kicked off Thursday. It's billed as the Ann Arbor Art Fair, but there actually are four different fairs.
Organizers say more than 1,000 artists from across the country are displaying their works in a more than 30-block area.
The event usually starts on a Wednesday, but organizers say that this year's event marks the first time in its 57-year history that it will open on a Thursday. An aim is offer more time for weekend visitors. There's also after-hours event planned Saturday night.
