Ford Arts, Beats & Eats: Everything you need to know for the Royal Oak festival

Ford Arts, Beats and Eats runs throughout Labor Day weekend in downtown Royal Oak, with live music, food, art and much more.

We have everything you need to know if you're heading to Royal Oak for the Labor Day weekend festival.

Parking & Transportation

All parking meters in Royal Oak will not be available during the weekend due to traffic concerns.

There are parking lots and structures in downtown Royal Oak that people can park in. The lots will start charging $15 for parking at 1:30 p.m. on Friday and the structures will be $15 beginning at 5 p.m. on Friday.

There is also shuttle parking available from Royal Oak High School on Crooks, north of 13 Mile. Parking at the lot is $10 and riding the shuttle is free. It will run from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and 10:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. on Monday.

Hours and Pricing

On Friday, it is free to get into the festival before 5 p.m., but will be $5 to get in after 5 p.m. On Saturday, Sunday and Monday, it will cost $3 before 3 p.m. to get in and $5 after 3 p.m. Children under 3 are free at all times. Active duty military and veterans and a guest can get in free with a military ID.

What you can and can't bring in

  • No outside food or beverages will be allowed in the festival, except baby formula, baby bottle or a sippy cup.
  • You can ride a bike to the festival and park it in one of two bicycle corrals.
  • Chairs are not allowed for any of the concerts, but some are provided on the local stages.
  • Dogs are not permitted at the festival.
  • If you leave the festival, you can re-enter if you have the provided wristband on.

Art Fair

Artists from across the nation will be participating at the Art Fair on 7th Street between Lafayette and Washington, Washington between 7th and Lincoln and Lincoln between Washington and Center.

The Art Fair runs 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Monday.
