The annual Mega March for Animals will be held on Sunday, September 25, on Belle Isle. Money raised will benefit the Michigan Humane Society.

Registration starts at 9 a.m. The walk will begin at 10 a.m.

You can walk with a pet, a group or by  yourself on the 2-mile journey around the Detroit park. A shorter route will also be available. Water will be provided for people and pets at several points along the route.

Everyone is welcome to walk. Pets who are friendly, vaccinated and would enjoy the event are welcome to attend on a leash or in a carrier.  If your dog will be walking with you, please keep their vaccination records with you at all times during the walk and be prepared to pick up after your pets.

Anyone without a Recreation Passport will have to pay $11 to get on to Belle Isle.

Again, every dollar raised will help the Michigan Humane Society care for tens of thousands of animals each year through its lifesaving programs, including: adoption, cruelty investigation, emergency rescue and reuniting lost animals with their families.
