"Hedwig & The Angry Inch" - Rock musical steams up stage at Fisher Theatre

"Broadway in Detroit" is steaming up the state at the Fisher Theatre with the rock musical, "Hedwig & The Angry Inch."  Click the video player for JoAnne Purtan's interview with one of the stars. 
 
The musical by John Cameron Mitchell and Steven Trask won four Tony Awards in 2014.  Producers descrbe the show as "brilliantly innovative, heartbreaking, and wickedly funny." They also call it a, "genre-bending, fourth-wall-smashing musical sensation, with a pulsing score and electrifying performances."
 
The show runs through March 5th, and tickets are available at Ticketmaster locations, by calling 1-800-982-2787, and also online at www.broadwayindetroit.com or www.ticketmaster.com, and at the Fisher Theatre Box Office.
 

"Hedwig and the Angry Inch:" tells the story of  “Internationally ignored song stylist” Hedwig Robinson who is out to set the record straight about her life, her loves, and the botched operation that left her with that “angry inch.”

Here are  performance times for Hedwig and the Angry Inch  at The Fisher Theatre, located at 3011 West Grand Blvd., in Detroit. (The show closes March 5.)

• Tuesday through Saturday evening performances at 8:00 p.m.
• Sunday evening performances at 7:30 p.m.
• Saturday & Sunday matinees at 2:00 p.m.
• Open captioned performance on Sunday, Feb. 26 at 7:30 p.m.
