Five guys are on a mission to save the world, and they're doing it with their heavenly voices and dazzling dance moves. The Off Broadway hit musical "The Altar Boys" runs through March 5th at Meadow Brooke Theatre on the campus of Oakland University in Rochester. The "Altar Boyz"-Matthew, Mark, Luke, Juan and Abraham use their talents to escape small-town Ohio and get some national recognition for their "boy band." This rockin' musical comedy joins them on the last night of their "Raise the Praise" national tour.
"Altar Boyz" was conceived by Mark Kessler and Ken Davenport, The book is by Kevin Del Aquila, with music and lyrics by Gary Adler and Michael Patrick Walker .
"I love this show!" says Travis Walter, Meadow Brook Theatre artistic director. "It ran off-Broadway for more than 2,000 shows and the audiences loved it. The singing, dancing and the boys' stories will entertain people of all ages, from all walks of life. The energy of these five guys is just what we need in the middle of winter at Meadow Brook."
