Organizers say volunteers of all ages will participate in dozens of social service projects so Christians can celebrate at home with their families. The project times run between 6am and 3pm on Christmas day.
It's a joint effort between The Jewish Community Relations Council, The Jewish Federation of Metropolitan Detroit and the Michigan Muslim Community Council. Mitzvah Day volunteers will work at 43 different sites for social service groups.
