Some people watch the Super Bowl for the commercials just like some people watch the Academy Awards for the fashion.

The red carpet at the Oscars is where you can count on seeing A-list stars wearing gorgeous designer dresses and security-guarded diamonds.

Karen Buscemi – the Editor of StyleLine Magazine in Detroit – predicts the colors to look for include shades of red, pure white, and midnight black.

She also told 7 Action News This Morning that dresses with cut-outs – similar to what Alicia Keys and Kelly Osborne wore to the Grammys – will be hot.

She also expects for cleavage-revealing styles like Katy Perry’s plunging green number at the Grammys or what Eva Longoria and Kate Hudson rocked at the Golden Globes.

“I hope to see black and white – the trend for spring,” said Buscemi.  What January Jones and Juliana Marguiles wore to the SAG Awards would be good examples she explained.

She also hopes to see a lot of brights.  Freida Pinto wore a hot pink dress to the SAG Awards, and it really popped.

Emerald green is Pantone’s color for 2013 so Buscemi thinks you’ll be seeing some of that hue Sunday night.  It was also the color Florence Welch and Solange Knowles wore to the Grammys.

Buscemi considers navy the new black.  Amanda Seyfried and Jennifer Lawrence selected navy gowns to wear for the SAG Awards.

What does Buscemi expect NOT to see?

“Prints,” she said. “ Maybe one or two brave celebs will venture in the direction,” she added.  But she doesn’t expect many stars to go that way.
