Former ABC show "Nashville" picked up for new season at new network, report says

Last month, it was announced that ABC would not be renewing its show, "Nashville," for a fifth season.

So, when the show ended a couple of weeks ago with an ending many fans were not happy with, many took to social media to rally support for the show.

The support worked, as The Tennessean is reporting that the show was picked up by CMT and will also be streamed on Hulu.

The decision to end "Nashville" drew an immediate lament from the city's mayor, Megan Barry, who called the loss of the series filmed in her town a disappointment.

"The show has been an enormously successful promotional tool for our city, which is why the state of Tennessee and metro Nashville were prepared to support production for a fifth season," Barry said.

According to The Tennessean, the state will put money in its budget, and Barry has proposed a $1.375 million fund for film incentives for the show.
