AAA Michigan: Statewide gas prices rise 6 cents compared to last week

(WXYZ) — Gas prices in Michigan are down after jumping 13 cents to $2.89 per gallon on July 4, AAA Michigan reports.

Michigan drivers are now paying an average price of $2.85 per gallon for regular unleaded, 6 cents more than a week ago and 6 cents more than this time last month.

Motorists are paying an average of $43 for a full 15-gallon tank of gasoline, AAA Michigan reports.

The most expensive gas price averages were found in Ann Arbor ($2.90), Metro Detroit ($2.86) and Jackson ($2.86.) The least expensive gas price averages were found in Marquette ($2.70), Traverse City ($2.76) and Saginaw ($2.79.)
