EB I-94 closing from Gratiot to I-696 this weekend; other lane closures planned

(WXYZ) — A major closure along I-94 and several other lane closures are planned this weekend in Detroit, Wayne and Macomb counties.

According to the Michgian Department of Transportation, eastbound I-94 will be closed from Gratiot in Detroit to I-696 from 5 a.m. Saturday through 10 p.m. Sunday. Drivers are urged to take northbound Gratiot Ave. to I-696 and then get back to eastbound I-94.

On top of that, eastbound I-94 will only have one lane open from Little Mack to 14 Mile from 5 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday. There will also only be one lane open on eastbound I-94 from 21 Mile to M-19/New Haven from 4 a.m. Saturday to 5:30 p.m. Sunday.

Other lane closures include one lane open on westbound I-94 from Woodward Ave. to M-10 from 8 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday.
