(WXYZ) — Eastbound M-59 is closing in Pontiac beginning Tuesday night and lasting for three weeks.

The Michigan Department of Transportation said M-59 will close from Saginaw St. to Perry St. for utility work starting at 9 p.m. The closure is required for excavation work, concrete curing around drainage structures, and utility access and repairs.

Westbound M-59 and local roads around Pontiac will remain open during the closure.

Eastbound M-59 traffic will be detoured via southbound Woodward Avenue, then northbound Woodward Avenue to eastbound M-59.
