Southbound Lodge Freeway will close at I-94 in Detroit this weekend

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Southbound Lodge Freeway will be closed at I-94 in Detroit this weekend for ramp demolition.

MDOT says crews will be repairing the eastbound I-94 ramp to northbound Lodge in Detroit.

Southbound M-10 will be closed starting at 10 p.m. Friday and ending at 5 a.m. Monday. MDOT says the closure is needed to safely allow crews to demolish the failing barrier wall on the ramp and the portions of the flyover ramp that span over southbound M-10.

DETOURS

Southbound Lodge traffic will be advised to use eastbound Davison Freeway, then southbound I-75 back to southbound Lodge. One lane will be open for local traffic to access the Pallister Avenue and West Grand Boulevard exits off southbound Lodge. During the closure, traffic can exit onto either eastbound or westbound I-94 bu will not be allowed south of those ramps. The EB and WB I-94 ramps to SB Lodge will remain open.

Starting June 10, single and double-lane closures will be set up on both directions of I-94 between Lodge and Warren Avenue during overnight hours. The lane closures will state at 9 p.m. and end by 5 a.m. the following mornings. The nightly closures will continue until July.

EB I-94 traffic heading for NB Lodge is detoured to NB I-75 then westbound Davison Freeway back to NB Lodge.

The EB I-94 ramp to NB Lodge Freeway is expected to be closed until Labor Day.
