WXYZ DETROIT — Our Channel 7 Give a Child a Book campaign generated this viewer comment:

“(It’s) just sad what the liberal culture has done to our literature in this country.”

  • David Bazydlo

Doug Patterson wrote:

“What a great campaign. Reading is fundamental to everything positive in our society. Kudos to your station.”

Our editorial on the virtual budget forums for the City of Detroit, prompted Shelly Chambers to say, “Thank you for making these forums accessible. If you don’t participate, don’t complain about the final budget.”

Maggie Johnson sent in this comment:

“I wish GM had stayed in their old building. Nostalgia, I guess. I worked there in the 1950’s and I really loved that building.”

Well, with the Old Train station being re-born, who knows wat the future holds, Ms. Johnson.

Our annual Newsmaker of the Year editorial caught the attention of Donna Stewart who wrote:

“I am neither a graduate of MSU or U/M but as a lifelong Michigander, I cheered for both schools and coaches last year. Great season!”

Another viewer said:

“Can’t wait for the big game between the Wolverines and Spartans this fall. What a rivalry for that ugly Paul Bunyan Trophy. Lol!”

  • D. Douglass

Our editorial in support of Black History Month triggered a little fire. Nicholas Kraft wrote:

“Why haven’t we realized by now THIS is segregation.”

Shaun AW Wright-Verdun responded:

“Educate yourself on why information like this is important.”

Callen Vaughn seem to agree and added:

“Oh, please, every month is White history month.”

To which Jay Will replied:

“Is it really?”

The debate continues. Thanks for writing and watching.
