We weren't the only ones to celebrate our independence on July 4th. Six small ducklings are happy to have their freedom, too.

Farmington Hills Police Officer Lindsey McDonald is receiving praise for rescuing the ducklings after they got stuck in a sewer drain near the McDonalds on Grand River and Drake on the holiday, according to a Facebook post on the city's official page.

While she could not locate the mother duck, the officer was reportedly able to successfully save the ducklings and transport them to the Howell Nature Center.

The center will evaluate the ducklings at its Wildlife Rehabilitation Clinic.
