When Kelly Dillaha heads out of her Troy home, she often has a list of errands to run, but many of them aren't her own. Kelly runs a concierge business.

"A concierge is someone who takes care of people, so I take care of them with their regular, everyday life, things that they can't get to," she explains.

Familiar Frustration

As a wife, mother, full-time worker, and caregiver for her own mom, Kelly Dillaha was overwhelmed.

"One day when I was sitting at my moms bedside, I was just thinking 'if someone would go and pick up the milk for me, I just couldn’t do it all myself', and I realized there are a lot of other people in that same position."

Kelly saw a business opportunity. A year ago, after her mom passed away, she quit her job and started a business called "Fat Cat Concierge..." named after her fat cat that jumped on her computer screen as she was thinking about what she should call her company.

On top of errands, Kelly will schedule and meet with service providers at your house, or check on your home while you're on vacation, and so much more.

"For some of my senior clients, it might be a weekly shopping trip where I’m going to pick prescriptions and some of their necessities," she explains. She's also had calls from our-of-town clients from people wanting her to run errands for their elderly loved ones here in Southeast Michigan.

Her fees depend on whether it's an ongoing errand or service she provides, or a one-time job.
