1 dead, 1 injured in shooting on Detroit's east side; police looking for suspect

DETROIT (WXYZ) — Detroit police are looking for a suspect involved in a double shooting on the city's east side that killed one victim and injured another.

The shooting happened Saturday, Jan. 19 at 1:40 a.m. in the 16000 block of East Warren. Police say the suspect fired shots into a red 2004 Dodge while the two victims were inside.

A 36-year-old man was fatally wounded, while a 34-year-old woman was treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Police have released a sketch of the suspect. He's described as a black man between ages 38 and 39. He's between 5 feet, 8 inches and 5 feet, 9 inches tall. He is slender, bald and clean shaven. He was seen wearing a light colored, bulky coat.

The vehicle the suspect was driving is described as a dark colored, new model Chevy Malibu or Impala.
