DETROIT (WXYZ) — One person was fatally shot during a barricaded gunman situation on Detroit’s east side Friday.
Police responded to a home on the 18600 block of Concord Friday night.
The 42-year-old gunman, believed to have had been suffering from a mental health episode, was holding a woman hostage inside the home.
According to DPD, the gunman was shot once, taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead within an hour of the shooting.
The hostage was safely removed from the home.
