Police are investigating a deadly accident that happened on Thursday night in Sterling Heights.
Two women were hit by a car around 7:45 p.m. near 15 Mile and Dodge Park, according to police.
Overnight, police told us the women were trying to cross the street but didn't wait for the walk signal. That's when a car that had the green light hit them.
The driver did stop at the scene, according to police.
A 49-year-old woman from Sterling Heights died at the hospital. A 45-year-old woman -- also from Sterling Heights -- was hurt. She is in stable condition.
The intersection was shut down for about three and a half hours, but it has since reopened.
