ST. CLAIR COUNTY, Mich. (WXYZ) — Two boys, ages 13 and 10, have died following a fatal crash in St. Clair County Thursday night.

The sheriff's office received a report of an accident involving a go-kart and vehicle at the intersection of Fargo and Beard Road around 8:05 p.m.

Responding units found two juveniles, ages 13 and 10, unconscious and unresponsive on scene. The two were transported to Port Huron McLaren Hospital, where the 13-year-old was pronounced dead. The 10-year-old was transferred to Down River Hospital in critical condition, deputies say. He later died from his injuries on Saturday, July 27, according to the family's GoFundMe page.

A preliminary investigation determined the children were traveling southbound on Fargo Road, ignoring the stop sign. As a result, they were struck by a westbound vehicle driven by a Kenockee Township woman.

The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office Crash Investigation Unit is currently working the case.
