MORNOE COUNTY (WXYZ) — Police are investigating an accidental drowning that happened at Milan Beach in Monroe County on the Fourth of July.
Jorge Delgadillo-Flores, 17, of Inkster, died Saturday while at Milan Beach, 16339 Cone Road.
On the July 4, at 5:48 p.m., dispatch received a call about a person who had gone missing and was suspected to have drowned.
Family members told police that the teen had been struggling to swim before going under water.
The Monroe County Sheriff's Office Dive Team located the teen about 30 feet off shore. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
