19-year-old shot several times while taking out the trash in Detroit neighborhood

DETROIT (WXYZ) — A 19-year-old is being treated for non-fatal injuries after being shot multiple times while taking out the trash, according to Detroit police.

Around 2:30 p.m. Saturday, the male victim with his brother were taking out the trash in the 3300 block of E. Vernor. Two suspects approached the pair, announced a holdup then shot the victim before running away, police say.

Both suspects were dressed in black. Officers believe one is still armed.
