(WXYZ) — Michigan State Police assisted the Dearborn Heights Police Department in a pursuit Thursday of two suspects wanted for felonious assault.

The incident occurred around 6 p.m. the city of Dearborn Heights, when police attempted a traffic stop of two suspects in a U-Haul truck. The suspects did not stop, initiating the pursuit. Eventually, the suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot.

The two suspects were eventually taken into custody in the city of Detroit. They'll be turned over to Dearborn Heights for felonious assault charges to be filed.

A warrant request will be done by the Michigan State Police on charges of fleeing and eluding and resisting and obstructing police. These charges are pending prosecutor review.
